About Me

I have come to appreciate art through the stunning Viennese museums and have been painting seriously since 2019. Now, I particularly enjoy the work of Edvard Munch and the brush stroke of Anders Zorn and Joaquín Sorolla.

I use oil paint for its ability to show the dualism of a real, figurative motif and the abstract chaos of brush strokes. Simultaneously, a viewer of a painting is witness to the creation of a realist subject (out of mere paint) and its dissolution (into its basic elements, strokes of paint).

Regarding subject, my interest is the analysis of the individual (mainly through portraiture and self portraiture); i try to put forth some existentialist art as a more profound alternative to an ideologically motivated one.
